Halloween

Let's talk about Halloween.  On October 31, people dress up in weird costumes and go door to door saying "trick or treat!" and taking candy.  How weird is that?  How many people who celebrate it actually know why it is celebrated?  Who came up with this weird way to spend your day?  Why do we carve pumpkins?  I mean sure, some of them look cool (like this one), but why is that a thing?  Who decided to gut a thing that grows out of the ground, cut a face into it, then stick a candle inside?  Was it some crazy person?  There are too many unanswered questions.  I guess as long as I get some candy I'm happy.
