Reflections on Blogging

Image result for video gameBlogging has been an experience.  I didn't hate it and it meant easy points in this class, but I didn't enjoy it either.  I guess I just don't see the appeal.  Too think that some people make money from this is astonishing.  To each his own I guess.  Enjoy this picture of Mario because I think that video games represent me.  This will be the last time you hear from me, so goodbye, for the final time.

Memorial Day

Image result for memorial dayI didn't do anything for Memorial Day, it was just an extra day off for me.  The first official Memorial Day was on May 5, 1868.  Many cities claim to have started it, but none of them can really prove it.  The day is all about remembering those who have died fighting for our country.  Fun fact, the south celebrated it on a different day until after the first world war because that's when it was changed from celebrating those who fought in the civil war to those who fought in any war.  The more you know!

National Month For ???

I will never understand why there is a need to celebrate so much random stuff.  For example, apparently May alone contains holidays like "Scurvy Awareness Day", "National Lost Sock Memorial Day", and "Lucky Penny Day".  I just cannot comprehend it.  I doubt many people celebrate them, but there are always those people who take this stuff too seriously.  Since we're already celebrating completely random stuff, let's celebrate watches this month! Why not? Everyone wear a watch all month for no reason at all.  Why are people so weird...

Violence on TV

Image result for csiTV shows are sometimes violent.  I would go into a ton of detail but at this point I've pretty much stopped watching TV.  Why watch TV when you could go on the internet?  If I were to give an example of a violent TV show, I think CSI.  The show where they solve murder cases and has a ton of spin offs.  They don't go into great detail when it comes to the actual violence, but they show the dead bodies and stuff.

Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo, or fifth of May, is a celebration of Mexico's victory over France in the Battle of Puebla.  However, it is a relatively minor holiday in Mexico.  The U.S. is where it got popular and began to celebrate Mexican heritage.  In my opinion, it has gotten bigger than it should have.  Many battles have been fought, but you don't celebrate every battle that has ever happened.

Prom

Prom is...something.  You pay your life's savings to spend a night a gym full of people standing around.  I don't see the appeal of that, I'd rather spend my night alone and not be broke afterwards.  I will never understand why people make such a big deal out of it.  "Woo!  Let's stand in a warm room and drink punch and stuff! Yeah!"  It just doesn't make sense.

Earth Day

To me, Earth day is just like any other day.  It's not a big deal for me. Here are some interesting facts about Earth Day.  Earth Day
Image result for earth day 2015was first celebrated in the U.S. in 1970.  Senator Gaylord Nelson started Earth Day in the U.S.  In 2011, 28 million trees were planted in Afghanistan on Earth Day.  To help celebrate, plant a tree, maybe plant two trees.  Anything that you do helps.
